Speed drawing videos and animations

People often say that hand-drawings have a special charm, and I agree with that, and only partly for sentimental reasons. Free-hand drawing somewhat opposes the ready-made availability of mass production, because it is personal, not repeatable, and allows all kinds of mistakes. Hand-drawn visual summaries or notes are strong and memorable (see graphic notes section here), but when they are turned into animated movies the possibilities are almost infinite. They can be explanation videos, promotions, greetings or gags, or a live way to illustrate recorded speeches as well. During my work at Graphacity I had the chance to take part in the creation of such videos, both as the designer of the images and the animations, and as the one drawing in the studio. In 2019 I created a speed drawing video series for the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, where I managed the full project from the preparation and design phase, through the recording of the drawing, to the editing, animation and post production phase. There is still so much to discover!
